Dr. Baxendell has a particular
interest in working with "metabolic horses" (overweight, cresty neck, easy keeper type horses) in
addressing dietary concerns to achieve an appropriate body
condition as well a routine monitoring of horses experiencing
problems such as laminitis.
When
end of life decisions are to be made for our equine
companions, we can help guide you through this difficult process
including making these tough decisions, on-farm euthanasia
procedures and disposal options. We are animal owners
ourselves and we strive to treat all our clients with care
and compassion at this most difficult time.
Our practice is also always looking for
new and innovative techniques and tools to expand the scope of our
practice and provide an even higher degree of care to our patients and
clients. We are committed to seeking out continuing education
opportunities to help expand our doctor’s knowledge base. This can be a
simple as reading periodicals and pursing new textbooks or as in-depth
as attending national equine conferences. If there is a product or
service that our practice does not currently offer, please let us know
so we can look in to it.
